It's a medocre UFA year, with the CBA up for renewal. Many GM's shyed away from contracts ending on this date, so hence very little action. |

Do you personally know Ryan Stoa and do you owe him money or something? |

Ebbett was on the Sedin Line when we were eliminated against the Kings. I'm all for NOT re-signing the depth players that AV insists on playing in these situations. |

Ebbett good utility player.
Here I go again. Signing Garrison may end up to be Edlers replacement or his partner. If he becomes the PP shot from the point and is as good as he is billed then Edler could become a trade chip for Weber. We know Edler will be asking 5 mil next year and we have to ask is he worth it?We can't afford Weber and Edler so I am just saying it opens the door for discussion. |

Not against Stoa, I would just like to see a top 6 forward signed. I would go after Doan hard if he is available after the 9th, and would also like to see another D brought in.
I realize Gillis might be hoping for some/both of these in a return for Luo. Hopefully the market increases for him with the lack of talent out there, I am just not sure who I would want back for him off of the "interested" teams.

If Suter walks from NSH, worried teams will push for Shea harder. I hate to say this, but I agree with Ek that NSH should consider trading Weber, would be able to rebuild with just moving him. |

Had a chance to show something, just didn't like what he showed us. Reason BUF let him go as well. |

The problem Nash has is, they need to let him talk to teams first. If Canucks knew they could extend him then the offer could be Edler Burrows Jensen. If it was even swap for the year it would be Edler only. |

Nash is already signed long term. You must mean Weber?

Ryan Stoa - 25 years old, 37 NHL games, 7 points. Best AHL season was 2009-10 when he had 40 points in 54 games. What does he bring to the table that you want so much? |

I think dropping Luongo's salary, getting some prospects in return and being able to go after a bigger-dollar player via trade or UFA offer would put Van near to the top in the West. But if Parise and Suter move a team like Detroit or the Wild, going to be a very tough conference, especially with the Kings, etc.
Be interested to see how hard Gillis pushes for another north-of-$5 million contract, though. |

I was just looking at our minor league roster, it's getting pretty thin and there are a ton of expiring contracts next year. |

Taking a big risk signing a guy (Garrison) for that kind of cash and length based on 1 good season. Really hope this turns out well because other this could end up worse than Ballard. |

Would have preferred that statement to come with an over-payment on Parise or Suter, but I guess you're right. |

I think it is a lot of money, considering he earned less than $700k last year, but he has shown over two years that he can play solid d at the NHL level on a not so good team. I expect him to do well here, but there is a significant risk that he becomes the next Ballard. |
